Exploring Health's New Frontiers
Space Health finds, funds and facilitates the development of new solutions to safeguard and enhance the health and performance of humans during deep space exploration.
The Translational Research Institute for Space Health (also known as Space Health) is a consortium led by Baylor College of Medicine and includes California Institute of Technology and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It was founded in October 2016 and works in partnership with NASA’s Human Research Program through Cooperative Agreement NNX16AO69A.
Space Health offers three types of out-of-this-world funded programs. The Translational Research Program focuses on cutting-edge science and technology research. The Scientist Program provides a bidirectional pipeline that allows researchers to interface with NASA, and it ensures NASA has access to cutting-edge expertise. The Support Program portfolio includes workshops and conferences, aerospace medicine residency support and public outreach.
